Louis Latour, Puligny - Montrachet Premier Cru 2016 - 75 cl
Montrachet Premier Cru 2016. 75 centiliters.
The commune of Puligny-Montrachet, located south of Meursault, produces the most prestigious white wines of the Côte d'Or. Its Grands Crus are known throughout the world and represent only 10% of the harvest (100,000 cases) of the entire area. This is the reason why Montrachet, Chevalier-Motrachet, Batard Montrachet and Bienvenues Batard-Montrachet, produced in small quantities and of exceptional quality, reach astronomical prices. The most famous Cru, the Montrachet , has a surface of 7.5 hectares and produces between 1000 and 2000 cases per year, a harvest that can never satisfy its numerous lovers. The vineyard is located on a small hill where the poor and stony soil, resulting from a calcareous subsoil, is perfectly adapted to the vineyard. The south orientation of the vineyard allows the fruit to reach an exceptional ripeness. This appellation has become so famous that the neighbors have added this name to their own.Puligny-Montrachet also produces some Premier Cru wines of very high quality ("Les Folatières", les Referts) and at a much more reasonable price. The vineyards on half a hill and those in the village itself produce wines that are also entitled to the Puligny-Montrachet appellation. In total there are about 230 hectares (Grands Crus included).
