In 1993, just three years after the fall of communism, the Álvarez family arrived in Hungary and founded Tokaj-Oremus Viñedos y Bodegas. The estate's activities are centered in Tolcsva, where - connected to the labyrinth of subway cellars that have existed since the 13th century - the new winery was built in 1999 and the Álvarez family devoted much attention to the careful and respectful study of this wine in order to learn about its production process and its history.
