San Cassiano tomato and basil sauce - 290g
The tomato is native to Central and South America. In 1540 Hernán Cortés returned to Spain and brought back some examples. In 1544 there are already Italian documents that report the beginning of the cultivation that found favorable lands in Emilia Romagna, Tuscany and southern Italy. Initially it was thought to be a poisonous plant and was adopted as a decorative plant. It was only at the end of the 18th century that the cultivation of tomatoes for food purposes experienced a strong impulse in Europe. For the preparation of the sauce we use only Italian tomatoes and basil.
Ready to use sauce prepared with tomato and basil. Ideal for dressing first pasta dishes, the sauce is ready to be poured directly on freshly drained pasta. You can heat it over low heat or in the microwave after opening the jar and removing the capsule. We recommend that you finish cooking the pasta by tossing it in the pan along with the sauce for one minute. Try it also on bread or as a sauce for casseroles, also excellent as a base for pizza, and for lasagna.
