Marqués de Murrieta Reserva 2019 Magnum 1.5L is one of the historic benchmark wines of Rioja DOCa and the flagship wine of the prestigious Marqués de Murrieta winery, founded in 1852 and regarded as one of Spain’s great traditional estates. Produced exclusively from grapes grown in the historic Finca Ygay estate vineyards, this Reserva perfectly combines Rioja tradition, elegance, and ageing potential.

The 2019 vintage benefited from excellent ripening conditions, resulting in a particularly balanced and expressive wine. The blend is dominated by Tempranillo, complemented by Graciano, Mazuelo, and Garnacha, varieties that contribute freshness, structure, and aromatic complexity. After fermentation, the wine is aged for 21 months in American oak barrels and further refined in bottle before release.

The nose reveals aromas of black cherry, blackberry, ripe plum, and fresh red fruit, layered with cocoa, vanilla, fine tobacco, sweet spices, and delicate balsamic and toasted nuances beautifully integrated into the wine. On the palate, it is silky, deep, and beautifully balanced, with polished tannins, vibrant freshness, and a long elegant finish marked by ripe fruit and refined spicy oak notes.

The 1.5L Magnum format allows slower and more harmonious ageing, enhancing both complexity and longevity over time. Marqués de Murrieta Reserva 2019 Magnum is a refined and classic Rioja equally suited for immediate enjoyment or long-term cellaring.
